Welcome to the Farm!

St Augustine Farm

Welcome to the farm!

We are excited about this new space to share the newest exciting activities happening around the farm, opportunities for you to get involved, and practical tips for raising your own animals or growing your own fruit and vegetables. We also plan to answer letters and questions we’ve received in the mail or on social media like:

Dear Wesley Wells Farm,

Thank you for a lovely day. Your farm is awesome. My favorite part was feeding the animals. Also, I liked running around. I learned when you feed a pig you dump the food in instead of sticking your fingers in. I’m so happy I got to visit your farm!

Sincerely,

Grace

Grace,

Thank you for your kind letter! We are so glad you enjoyed your visit to the farm and love that you paid attention to how we feed the animals. It is so important to be cautious when feeding them as some of them can bite you if you aren’t careful which is why we recommend dumping pig feed in their troughs.

For our animals like the cows, horses, and donkeys, it’s best to put the feed in your flat palm so they can use their lips to grab it off your hand. You don’t ever want to curl your fingers up or they could nip you.

When in doubt, dump the feed out (on the ground so they can reach it. :))

UPCOMING EVENTS

February 1st – help us glean the last of the winter u-dig potatoes this Saturday from 9-12pm (last entry at 11am). Farm admission is $10/person and includes a small bag for u-dig potatoes. We also have kale, rainbow chard, arugula, and beet greens available for u-pick as well. If you’ve never been, Saturday mornings are a great time to visit the farm and check out the area, do a little u-pick, visit the farm animals, and take a slide down that sand hill!

March 17-21st – This year, we are excited to announce our brand new Farm & Arts camp during Spring Break! You can opt for a day by day schedule or sign your student up for the entire week. We’ll be using farm fresh ingredients to cook with as well as foraging materials to naturally dye some fun projects. This is a camp your creative student is going to LOVE!
